Twin stick training routines look a little like Philippine stick fighting style, Escrima but they use the Tai Chi strategies of Yin and Yang along with the eight energies of Tai Chi.

In the Ki-Ways syllabus, twin stick fighting routines are for the quite serious martial artist. They will teach you how to intercept, redirect, absorb and return and attack. If you can perform the stick routines with both hands at a fairly high speed then you will become VERY fast with your bare hand routine.

For this reason, martial artists who enjoy sparring have gained become very fast using these techniques. If you already have a strong martial arts background, then it is fairly easy to learn these routines.
